Migrating C.O.N.T.R.A.D.I.C.T.I.O.N. to WordPress
When I first built this little site, it was back in 2003 and “blogging” wasn’t even a word I’d ever heard before. I just knew I was interested in having a place to write with the potential of having my musings read.
So I built a site from the ground up, but never really got it done. Then in mid-April of 2006 I became aware of a full-featured piece of software called WordPress which handles all of the features I had hoped to build into my site, but without me doing all of the database manipulation work I had sketched out.
So on April 17, 2006, I migrated all of my existing articles to a fresh installation of WordPress. Lost are some of the pithy hover comments I used to have, but one day when I’m ambitious I’ll see what I can do about getting those back. In the meantime, I hope that having such a polished & robust tool with which to write will mean I’m able to write more often without the technology lending power to my procrastinatory tendencies.
Onward.
