M.I.K.E.

M.I.K.E. is/was a small web page created for Jon’s friend and television colleague, Mike McCall.  Much like the name of Marvel’s S.H.I.E.L.D, this name too was a forced acronym which describes the purpose: Meteorlogical Internet Knowledge Emporium.

At its core, M.I.K.E. is a curated list of links to meteorological web pages and websites which Mike had discovered and either found interesting or used during the course of his job as Chief Meteorologist at WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida.

The site was hand-coded and hasn’t been updated since 2005, and the last “news” update was just  a few months later, but a majority of the hundreds of links are still valid and it still serves as a nice jumping off point for weather research; not to mention nostalgia.

For a time it had its own domain at MIKEWEATHER.COM.
