Michael S. Creamer

Michael Shawn Creamer is the second child (only son) of Steven Hurst Creamer and Jean Ann Campbell Creamer. He was born in Clearwater, Florida at Morton Plant Hospital. He is also known as Mike, Hambone and Creamer. Michael has one sister Becky Michelle Creamer Wanamaker who is two years and eleven days older.


Childhood

Michael lived in Dunedin, FL and attended San Jose Elementary School. In 1979, he moved to Lecanto, FL with his family and attended a newly built school, Lecanto Primary. He grew up living on five acres where his family had a garden, orchard, Rhode Island Red chickens, rabbits, pigs and a dog.

Growing up, Michael attended Boy Scouts with his father, even before Michael was old enough to join. At the age of 8, Michael joined Cub Scouts with his father as his Den Leader. Sticking with Scouts, he continued through Weblos and Boy Scouts eventually earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

Michael attended Lecanto Middle and Lecanto High schools in Lecanto, FL. He participated in many school activities:

While attending San Jose Elementary school in Dunedin, FL, Michael ran away from school and walked two miles home. He was only 5 at the time.

In 1998 to 1989 and 1990 to 1991, Michael hiked close to 300 miles in the Sangre de Cristo mountain range in the Rocky Mountains in Cimmarron, NM while visiting Philmont High Adventure Base.

Michael used to make dessert toppings for Betty Crocker.

While in attending Lecanto Middle School, he had two poems, an ode and two short stories published in the school literary magazine, as well as a monthly column in the school newspaper.

He was a charter member of Troop 415 in Crystal River, FL and regularly attends an annual Eagle Scout breakfast held by Troop 415 for all of its Eagle Scouts. He was the second scout to earn the rank of Eagle in his troop.

For vacation, Michael travels to Camp Daniel Boone in Waynesville, NC to teach scouts living history. He is a part of a larger group known as Boonesboro Village. The Craftsman of the village teach crafts and skills from the 18th century. They dress and live as though they would have in the 1770's.

He once was licensed to sell Credit Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment Insurance on mortgages and installment loans.
