Eric Gardner became part of the REDdimension Wiki Circle in 2007. Jon had accepted a new job in Jacksonville, Florida with Thomson Grass Valley, and it was there he met Eric, who had started at Thomson just two weeks earlier.

Not only were they in the same position of having just taken on a new job and living alone in a new city without their families, they found they had many other things in common outside of their immediate circumstances. Jon and Eric seemed to become friends almost immediately.

Upon the closure of the Jacksonville office of Grass Valley, Eric reversed his acceptance of relocation to Nevada City, CA to take a position with ESPN.
