- An ongoing joke among music students at PCC revolved around the naming convention for the rooms in the Fine Arts building. All rooms at PCC followed the naming convention of xx-ny where xx was the two-letter prefix of the building (ES = Earth Science, FA = Fine Arts, etc.), n was the floor number, and y was the letter of the room. The main band hall at PCC was in the Fine Arts building, first floor, and room "L". Thus the room number was FA-1L which looked remarkably like the word, "fail." The FA-1L room number was stenciled on all music stands and equipment belonging in the room, so the subliminal message to "fail" seemed to be everywhere.
