Denise Duggan is writing this article at the request of the wiki owner but can't imagine why anyone would care about this information about her. But because she cannot deny the request of her Captain (don't care what rank he is.... he'll always be Cap'n Jon to me) she's writing this.

Childhood

Denise was born in Columbia, SC at Providence Hospital in 1966. When she was five years old her parents got a divorce. For two years she was shuttled between the two of them, attending four schools in her first two years. When she was seven she went to live with her maternal grandparents who became her Mom and Daddy. At that point her childhood became fairly uneventful filled with summer camps and TAG programs until she was 15 years old. That's when her Daddy died suddenly. Unfortunately, she was just coming out of that teenaged funk and realizing that maybe her Daddy was smarter than she thought he was. Talk about missed opportunities! But from that point forward her Mom was mom and dad to her and Mom did a wonderful job - becoming absolutely the wind beneath her wings.

• Florida State University (was halfway to CompSci degree when got a job in programming)

• Tallahassee Community College (earned AA)
• University of South Carolina, 1984 through 1988 (dropped out a time or two)
• Chapin High School, 5th grade through 1984 (no middle school in Chapin at the time)
• Chapin Elementary School through the 5th grade
• Several elementary schools, eventually Seminole Elementary until the 4th grade

• Numerous fast food and other jobs

Family

Denise is married to a wonderful man, Jim Duggan, who has a magical way of making her feel totally free to do what she wants and totally protected all at the same time. She has two sons, James and Joey. They're teenagers now (Joey almost) and life is getting interesting because of that. But they're wonderful kids.

• ASP.NET 2.0 (actually, any programming, but this is the latest I'm learning)

Heroes

• Scarlett O'Hara - because nothing stops her. No matter the obstacles she'll find a way to get through them
• Walt Disney - it all started with a mouse and is now an empire. When he got to CA he had $40 in his pocket and nothing else. The more I learn about the man, the more I am impressed with what he's done.
