Backstory
Jon's parents moved frequently between Florida and the Missouri area many times when he was first born. Ken had children from a previous marriage in Florida, and both he and Sharon had family in Missouri, and they were prototypical snowbirds, moving north for the summer and south for the winter.
On each trip, it was common to stop and visit Sharon's father, Cliff, in Illinois. Always happy to see them, he would ask about where they had been and where they were now moving to.
Concerned for his grandson's home stability, he would implore Ken and Sharon to settle down and choose one address so Jon would not have to change from school to school once his formal education began.
The couple honored his request, and from second grade on, they lived in the same school zone in central Florida.
