Whenever the crew of the [[USS Khai Tam]] attended an event (usually a Star Trek convention) in sufficient numbers to warrant sharing two or more rooms, one room was typically designated as the '''Party Room''' while the other(s) were designated as the '''[[Sleep Rooms]]'''. While the sleep rooms had a lights-out curfew set by general agreement, it was understood that the Party Room had none, and if you chose to stay in the Party Room, you did so in order to, or in spite of, stay up to the wee hours of the morning swapping amusing anectodes with your shipmates and perhaps sharing an adult beverage of some sort. A blender and a cooler were generally fixtures in the Party Room.

Whenever possible, the Party and Sleep Rooms were adjoining rooms with a door between them. While this made for a convenient arrangement during the day, the noise travelling from one room to another sometimes [[You're Being Really, Really Loud|disturbed] the occupants of the Sleep Room.

If there was only one room at a ship's event, the majority of the occupants generally established the character of the room, sometimes to the chagrin of the minority.
